ENEKO Tokyo, the newest expansion of the ENEKO concept by chef Eneko Atxa (3 Michelin stars in Azurmendi Bilbao, Spain), is set to open its doors on September 7, 2017. It joins ENEKO London and ENEKO in Bilbao as the third ENEKO location opened this year.
ENEKO is a culinary concept that was originally created by chef Atxa for his space at One Aldwych in London. It takes a slightly more informal approach to fine dining than Eneko´s three Michelin starred Azurmendi restaurant, yet the distinctive flavours and technique integral to the chef´s cuisine are as present as ever.
A return to the origins, dining at ENEKO is meant to evoke an experience reminiscent of home cooking, but taken to unprecedented levels of quality. It seeks to become the ambassador of Basque cuisine in Japan.
ENEKO Tokyo will adapt Eneko Atxa’s cuisine into a bistro style using Japanese products that will reflect the four-seasons Japan has.
The new restaurant will have two set menu options available:
- A tasting menu at noon that includes appetizers and a 4-course meal
- An evening menu that includes appetizers and a 7- course meal
Located in the quiet Roppongi neighbourhood, the new restaurant will include three distinctive dining spaces:
-Main Dining Room
The wood-finished interior of the main dining room has a capacity of 44 people per service. The kitchen is openly visible and allows the diners to see the live preparation of each dish, adding to the overall experience and to the “homestyle” return to origin concept.
On the other side of the restaurant is an external patio space that will be open from Spring to Fall.
In addition to the two spaces above, ENEKO Tokyo will also have four private areas complete with balconies for a more private dining experience.
